Pictures that inspire a trip to Madagascar

 

It is the largest island in Africa (and one of the largest in the world). Separated from the mainland thousands of years ago, today could be summarized as an ark that retains many unique species: lemurs and baobabs are probably two of the icons of this "lost world", but there are many more. For example, there are about 373 species of frogs found on the island, 99% of which are endemic. Madagascar has seven ecoregions ranging from mangrove forest, shrubland, and forest.
